Opening ceremony

Meanwhile, Khalifa pointed out that the opening ceremony will start from 4pm on Wednesday and the competition on day one will be comprise eight categories.

“We will begin with the one-year-olds colts and fillies from category A & B, followed by the two-year-olds category B, then the three-year-olds fillies, the four-year-olds and above horses, the five-year-olds and above mares, the one-year-olds, two-year-olds and the three-year-olds colts,” he said.

“On Thursday, the competition will be resumed from 9am with the galloping for mares and stallions. From 4pm in the afternoon, the four-year-olds and above stallions and the eight-year-olds mares will exhibit their beauty,” he said.

“The finals will feature the winner and runner up from each category will advance to the second stage of the competition to battle it out for the four trophies in the colts, fillies, mares and stallions categories.

“Thereafter, a separate competition for the most beautiful head will be organised for fillies and stallions to be followed by the a free show for mares and stallions,” he explained.

Khalifa also thanked the sponsors Sharjah Electricity & Water Authority, Sharjah Zulal Factory, Sahara Centre, Cansult and Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
