Promising stars with Bouresly Racing Syndicate   Print  E-mail

Gary Hind astride Conceal, after the horse won the Shadwell-sponsored sprint at Jebel Ali racecourse last Friday.

Bouresly, the Dubai-based Kuwaiti businessman turned racing entrepreneur, names Nasseem Dubai as a potential challenger for the Group 2 contest which is one of the highlights of the 2005 Dubai World Cup card.

The two-year-old, who was formerly trained in England by Mrs Ann Duffield, made an eye-catching UAE debut when beaten only half a length by Sound The Drum in a competitive-looking handicap.

Nasseem Dubai is among several exciting newcomers added to the flourishing stables that Bouresly runs under the banner of the Bouresly Racing Syndicate.

"We have some very nice horses this year," he said yesterday. "Two of them that I have big hopes for are Checkit and Shanty Star who I acquired in England. Also Pakhoes looks a very promising horse.

"Obviously we will still be with our regular stars, Conceal, St. Expedit, Mahfoot, Dubai Guest.

"But I'm hoping Checkit and Shanty Star really do well." Checkit, a four-year-old by Mukaddamah, finished a good sixth behind dead-heaters Right Approach and Paolini in the Dubai Duty Free (Group 1) at Nad Al Sheba last March.

Formerly schooled in the UK by footballer-turned racehorse trainer Mick Channon, Checkit was heavily campaigned last term making 17 uneventful visits to the racecourse.
