Located in the Mushrif area of Abu Dhabi just 10 minutes from the commercial center is a tranquil oasis in one of the Gulf’s most modern and beautiful cities, which is often referred to as the Garden City of the Gulf Region.
Racing in the capital city of Abu Dhabi is conducted on turf over a 2000-meter long oval track. The track resides within the Abu Dhabi Equestrian Center.
Within the Club complex is the site of the racecourse, which covers a vast area and includes a grass surface nine hole Golf Course located inside the racetrack. During the season racing takes place in the evenings, with the first race of a six-race programme commencing at 6.00 PM except in Ramadan when racing will start at 9.00 PM.
This center is home to many stables of horses. Most notable is the Stable for H.H. The President. The turf track is the home of the Abu Dhabi Triple Crown Series of races. In December, the National Day Cup race is run over 1600 meters. A second race, The President’s Cup, takes place over 2200 meters in February. And, finally, the series is concluded in April with The Emirates Championship race; again conducted over 2200 meters. Each of these races are handicapped, allowing for the most competitive contests.

The Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club is a prime example of H.H. The President’s wishes to spread the noble pastime of equestrianism. In the UAE and make available every modern facility for everyone who would like to participate. |
